Maureen Denise McCormick was born on 5 August 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and only daughter of Richard and Irene McCormick. Her father taught in the school system and her mother was a stay at home mom. Michael Dennis Kevin is her older brother. She has three siblings. McCormick began performing and singing at a very young age. Her rise to fame as a fairytale began when she took home her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of six, which prompted being contacted by the talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency and asked her if she would like to work in show business. McCormick got her first big job in 1964 as she acted in a TV commercial featuring Mattels latest doll, Baby Pattaburp. In the year that followed, she appeared in a second commercial on television for the doll Chatty Cathy. The following year, McCormick was cast at La Jolla Playhouse to play the role of the character Wind It up before It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick, chosen from more than 1200 auditioning children to play the third of three head-to-head daughters in The Brady Bunch (1969) with Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The series lasted 5 years. McCormick's autobiography Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was published in the year 2008. She revealed in it that McCormick almost lost her virginity on the set of the series during the fifth season when it was played by Barry Williams. In 2008, McCormick revealed in her book Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Identifying My True Voice that in the fifth season of the show she almost lost her virginity to actor Barry Williams. It was likely that we would have a romantic relationship, said she. However, the timing was not right.
