
Jennifer always longed to be a multi-tasking superstar. Growing up, she enjoyed a variety of genres of music, but she particularly enjoyed Afro-Caribbean dances such as salsa, merengue and bachata. She also enjoyed popular music such as pop hip-hop, R&B. Though she was passionate about movies, the music industry attracted her. Her most significant influence came from the Rita Moreno musical, West Side Story (1961). At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Jennifer was also an entertainer as well as a Catholic schoolgirl, attended for eight years of Holy Family Catholic Middle School located in The Bronx. After a four-year stay and graduation, she attended Preston High School, an all-girls prep school. Jennifer was a skilled athlete who competed in tennis and track at school was also an impressive pupil. Then, in Castle Hill, she spent the majority of her time in a two story house. As a teenager, Jennifer moved out of her parents' home. At this point, Lopez worked at a law firm and took dancing jobs at night.
